A pressure switch is a device that automatically switches circuits when the measured pressure reaches a set value. It is mainly composed of a pressure-sensing element, a signal processing unit, and an actuator. When pressure acts on the pressure-sensing element (such as a diaphragm or bellows), it deforms and transmits the signal to the signal processing unit. Once the preset threshold is reached, the actuator triggers to connect or disconnect the circuit.
It has wide applications: in industry, it monitors pipeline pressure to prevent overpressure, controls the start/stop of oil pumps in hydraulic systems, and maintains stable air pressure in air compressors. Household devices like coffee machines and water heaters also use it. Classified by principle, there are mechanical diaphragm types, electronic types, etc. When selecting a pressure switch, factors such as range, accuracy, and medium compatibility should be considered. During installation, ensure the pressure-measuring point is accurate and avoid vibration to ensure it reliably realizes pressure monitoring and control functions.
